Working with HyperSites E-Mail for Your Sites
From setting up your email accounts, to setting up your email client, this page should answer your questions.
Email service at HyperSites is subject to our Acceptable Use Policy. By using your email account, you agree to this policy as long as your email account is active and served by HyperSites.
About HyperSites E-Mail
Features included with HyperSites based email addresses:
• POP/IMAP email accounts - Supported by all email programs
• WebMail - Allows you to check your email on any computer
• 8 Megabyte email attachments - for larger attachments, consider using your file manager or another file transfer system
• 200MB of email storage per email address
About email account types
There are three ways to access your email at HyperSites. Here is some guidance to help you decide which is right for you.
POP
• HyperSites Recommended
• Messages are downloaded to, and stored on your computer
• Folders for messages are created and stored on your computer
• Previously downloaded messages are unavailable to other computers that are set up with the account, and are also unavailable to WebMail.
IMAP
• Messages can be stored on the server
• Folders can be created on the server
• Messages are available to other computers with this account
• WebMail has access to the messages and folders in your account
• If messages are moved to a folder you have created on your computer (not on the server), the messages are removed from the server
WebMail
• Browser based access to your email from any computer on the internet
• Email is stored on the server
• Folders are stored on the server
• Messages are available to IMAP based email accounts
• Customizable interface
Creating an E-Mail Account
To manage email addresses and domain names in your account, go to your Site Manager and click Tools > Domains & Email.

Incoming E-Mail Settings
To receive email.
• Incoming/POP/IMAP server: mail.hypersites.com
• Account name: your full email address
• Password: your password
• Do not enable SSL
Outgoing E-Mail Settings
If you're going to use our mail server to send email, use the following settings. If you plan to use your internet service provider's or another mail server, use the instructions they have provided.
• Outgoing/SMTP server: mail.hypersites.com
• You must use "Password" authentication to send mail through mail.hypersites.com. In the advanced or custom SMTP server settings of your email program, use your full email address and password when requested.
• ADVANCED: If you are unable to send email using the default "port" (25), outgoing mail service is also available on port 587.
• Do not enable SSL
Using HyperSites WebMail
If you need to check your email while you're away from your computer, follow these steps to access your account via a web browser.
• The direct link to our WebMail server is: http://mail.hypersites.com/
• Enter your email address
• Enter your password
