HyperSites the platform
1. How can I use my own domain with HyperSites?
There are two ways to get HyperSites to use your domain name.

First is the traditional method. Set your domain's server setting to our DNS servers. If you do this, you'll need to let us know so we can tell our DNS servers to respond to your domain.

ns.hypersites.com
ns1.hypersites.com

Alternatively, if you're familiar with DNS and can use your provider's domain tools, you can simply point your web services to our shared IP. Contact support to get the current IP.

Either way, be sure to enter the domain in your Site Manager > Domains & Email panel.
2. How much does it cost?
For Starting Points and the unique page view pricing model, have a look at our Starting Points page. For the other services, give us a call at 866-468-1518.
3. How do I configure my email program to use the HyperSites mail servers?
See the Email Settings page.
4. Can I trust the platform to perform well under pressure?
We serve millions of pages per month. To handle the traffic, our applications servers are behind a load balancer, we have dedicated media servers (and serve most media using Amazon S3), and we have a wicked fast DB server - all on a private network. We can easily handle many times the traffic we have. If you have a customer with even greater demands, we can easily add more capacity. Just let us know *before* you point the domain to us! ;-)
5. What makes HyperSites different from every other browser based web development tool?
First, templates are a bad word around here. We give you pixel-precise control over your layout and require no coding along the way. Second, try building a highly dynamic site like Choose-A-Thon with any of our competitors... and keep in mind that not one line of script was written to build it.
6. Your HTML is mostly tables based. What gives? My clients are demanding CSS!
We started building this thing in 2001 when CSS was still in diapers. Along the way, we focused primarily on features (have a look at the database manager!). As we move forward, we're implementing CSS where it makes sense. What's cool? When we make those improvements, you'll see them automatically in the sites you build with the platform.

As a matter of point, when Microsoft introduced IE 7? We changed nothing on the platform to be "compatible." It happened by default. That is what your customers want.
The HyperSites Tools
1. What do I need to know before I can use HyperSites effectively? What are the prerequisites?
Basic HTML knowledge, like how to bold and italicize text is about it. If you want to do some of the more complex things, then being able to solve simple puzzles will really help. Either way, a couple of cups of coffee and an afternoon to learn should be about it.
2. What is the learning curve?
That depends on your willingness to learn, and let go of the attachments you may have to existing tools. For example, if the first thing you think about is "How would I do this in Dreamweaver?" then it will take you a bit longer. It may not be overnight, but a really good HyperSites developer can pick up the fancy stuff within a couple of weeks. Start with a simple site and learn (we recommend Simple One for beginners). Then let us know what it took for you. Once you get it, you'll be able to build some really cool stuff, quickly.
3. Is HyperSites greatness?
Yes. Yes it is.
