In Depth: Working with the Asset Manager
The Asset Manager provides amazing flexibility in managing and displaying content. The three major steps in working with the Asset Manager are detailed below.

Create custom asset structures by adding fields in the Asset Definition window. Invalid link tag: [link=5892]Enlarge[/link]
1
Define the Asset
Define the asset by adding and customizing fields. You can think of an Asset Definition as the structure of a database. Numerous field types are available, such as: text, image, date, poll, audio, video, downloadable, email, formula, etc.
Create associations to establish relationships between asset types. For example, you could create 'Article' and 'Author' asset types, then set the 'Article' as a child of 'Author'. Later, when adding the assets, you can connect a specific 'Article' to an 'Author'. When the 'Article' is displayed, the parent 'Author' information can be retrieved, and a link to other 'Articles' by the current 'Author' can be added easily.
You can also define Keywords and set them per asset. This makes it easy to create a list of related assets by matching Keywords.

Enter Assets
Use the Asset Manager to add Assets using the structure created during Asset Definition. Assets are the records that make up the data portion of your dynamic site.
You can also add a Workflow Container to your site for public, or restricted access entry of Assets.
Public entry allows you to hide and show fields, and override the requirements for the field.
Workflow Containers provide a tremendous amount of power. You can send emails upon entry, modify the contents of a related Asset's fields, and more.
You can, at any time, export the data you collect with your site. The ability to import data is coming soon.

3
Display Assets
Using the familiar HyperSites Builder layout tools, you can create custom displays for assets.
For example, build an article list view, article detail, article teaser, etc.
Each display can use complex filtering and sorting to select and arrange the assets to display.
Using the HyperSites Builder Scheduler system, you can set actions to occur on an hourly, daily, or monthly schedule. For example, you could send an email to your users when there are more than 5 articles with the word "Business Case" in them.
